An assortment of handmade crafts

I live in the North West of England in a town called Leyland and have always been passionate about crafts.  Over the years I have enjoyed knitting, sketching, painting, and cross stitch. I was at my local library one day where I picked out a book on card making.  The woman behind the counter told me I’d be hooked once I’d read it – she was right.  I started making a few designs and shortly after friends began asking me to make cards for them.  I could not believe it, not only was I feeding a passion, I was actually making these little pieces of art to sell.  On some of the cards I used beads for decoration, which got me thinking – why not have a go at making jewellery!

So here I am, house full of crafty stash and busy doing what I like best – crafting!

I would like to add a very big thank you to my son Chris for all the work he did in designing this site for me x

I strive to make high-quality products which is why I use the best quality materials.  For cards I use 250 – 300gsm card including Centura Pearl which has a lovely shimmer to it and Adorable Scorable and I use a number of different techniques including decoupage, pyramage, rubber stamping, die-cuts and many more.

For the jewellery I use a wide variety of beads which include Metal, Glass, Acrylic, Wooden, Semi-Precious Gemstones, Swarovski Pearls and Crystals.   For the findings I use Sterling Silver, Rhodium Plated, Silver and Gold Plated, Leather, Cotton Cord, Wire and Rattail.

What and who inspires me – well I often wake up in the middle of the night with an idea and write it down on a pad (so I don’t forget). I love anything that’s cute, classy and different.  In the Crafting World I would say Crafter’s Companion, Hunkydory, My Craft Studio and Docrafts are definitely the ones that inspire me the most.
